Sridhar (choreographer) Biography

Sridhar, fondly called Sridhar Master is a dance master and choreographer associated with Tamil film industry since early 2000s. He also appears in cameo roles in the song sequences. "Azhagiya Theeye" in Minnale and "Machan Peru" in Madhurey are some of his early appearances. In 2015, he played lead actor role in Pokkiri Mannan marking his acting debut. Earlier he has appeared in a supporting role in K. Balachander's 101st and final film as director – Poi, released in 2006.  He was also seen in the song "Vroom Vroom" of Vikram starrer - 10 Endrathukulla. He has choreographed the title song of the television series – Nadhaswaram, and also appeared in its sequence.

 

Sridhar was born and brought up in Chennai. His father is a drama artist. Sridhar got interested to dance since young. He entered film scene in 2001. After appearing in a couple of song sequences, he made his film debut as a supporting actor through the film - Poi, released in 2006. Later he got success as a choreographer for Tamil movies and shows. "Naaka Mukka" song in Kadhalil Vizhunthen (2008) was his first credited song as a choreographer and he also appeared in its picturisation. Prabhu Deva's Engeyum Kadhal (2011) was his major breakthrough as a choreographer.

 

In 2015 he returned once again to silver screen as an actor, this time in the lead role. However the movie, Pokkiri Mannan was panned by critics. He has worked as a choreographer in different regional films. A great dancer, he is often called Sridhar Master by his fans. He has also trained many students and actors in his dance school. Dulquer Salman and Vikram Prabhu are among those youngsters who received training from Sridhar.
