Sri (actor) Biography

Sri is a young actor of Tamil cinema, who made a magic debut to film industry with the highly praised film - Vazhakku Enn 18/9 directed by Balaji Sakthivel. It was followed by universally acclaimed - Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum, directed and produced by Mysskin and Vil Ambu (re-titled as Nerkku Ner) directed by Ramesh Subramaniam. Vil Ambu is scheduled to release in 2015. The movie is produced by  Suseenthiran.

Sri is a resident of Chennai. He completed graduation in Visual Communication and while doing his graduation, he debut small screen with - the television serial Kana Kaanum Kaalangal on Vijay TV in 2007. He unsuccessfully auditioned for the campus movie Kalloori in 2007 and had to wait 5 long years for his big screen debut. Balaji Sakthivel's teenager thriller Vazhakku Enn 18/9 with a bunch of newcomers marked his debut in 2012. He played the male protagonist for the movie, which bagged numerous awards including state awards and national awards.

Roles came pouring in. But he became choosy and rejected most of them, waiting for the right project. Among the rejected projects, Nalan Kumarasamy's Soodhu Kavvum (2013) can also be included, which became a path breaking film later. Mysskin's Onaayum Aattukkuttiyum (2013) was his second release and critics praised his performance and commented about a promising career ahead. Sri is a mimicry artist, before coming to movies. His talent as a mimicry artist brought him to street plays, mime shows and other stage activities. Then he got an opportunity to perform in Vijay TV. He tried and got it. Sri says that, till now whatever has happened in his life are interconnected and provided a link to his next move.
