Sreejith Ravi Biography

Sreejith Ravi is a noted film actor of Malayalam movies, known for supporting and comic roles. He is a businessman and industrialist too and is the son of veteran Malayalam actor, T. G. Ravi. Most recently he played the comic role of lorry driver Abhayakumar in 2013 comedy entertainer, Punyalan Agarbattis which shot him to fame. Vedivazhipadu, Kumki (Tamil), Thiruvambadi Thampan, Memories and Celluloid are his noted roles in the recent times. Sreejith has dubbed for his father for Ashwaroodan and Pranchiyettan & the Saint and has also appeared in a few Tamil movies.

He was born in Thrissur in 1976 to actor T. G. Ravi and Dr. Subhadra. He completed his schooling from the most prestigious school of Thrissur twon, Hari Sri. He completed Mechanical Engineering from NIT and MBA from ICFAI Business School, Bangalore before entering into family business of rubber products. He was attached to theatre plays during his college days. His father T. G. Ravi is the MD of Suntec Tyres Limited and a prominent business figure in rubber based industries in Thrissur. After studies, Sreejith joined Michael Griggs of Portland University to learn theatre and also studied under Mahesh Dattani at Bangalore. While at Bangalore he has acted in many English plays before returning back to his hometown. He also worked as a sales executive with Apollo Tyres Ltd at Bangalore for a brief period.

Once he returned to Kerala, he joined family business and also got associated with theatre group, Nataka souhrudam. He made his film debut with 2005 movie, Mayookham directed by Hariharan. The movie also marked the debut of its lead actors - Saiju Kurup and Mamta Mohandas. His big break was Dileep starrer Chanthupottu in 2005, where he played the supporting role of Cleetus. Mission 90 Days, Naalu Pennungal, Chekavar and Ezham Suryan are other memorable roles.
