Sreejita De Biography

Sreejita De is a successful television actress who has appeared in a few movies as well. Making her debut with the most popular television soap - Kasautii Zindagii Kay in 2007, she became household name with the series Uttaran on Colors, where she portrayed the role of Mukta Vishnu Kashyav. She has played a bit role as Parvathi in Siaf Ali Khan – Kareena Kapoor starrer Tashan in 2007, followed by Luv Ka The End (2011) and Monsoon Shootout (2013). Currently she plays the lead role of Shreya in Zee TV's Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi.

She belongs to Haldia of West Bengal, born in the year 1989. Her education was completed from her hometown itself and she holds a graduation in Mass Media from Ruia College. She never thought of becoming an actor. She dreamt to become a journalist. So she completed her graduation in mass media. A good friend of hers worked in Balaji Films in those days, who asked her to come for an audition for their upcoming series. Thus she attended the audition for Kasautii Zindagii Kay and got that small role as well. Though her family was not supportive in the early stage, slowly they accepted it.

As she belonged to Kolkata and was weak in Hindi, she faced some difficulties, which she overcame later with the help of her co-stars. She is a trained kathak dancer and enjoys dancing. Though she regularly appears in soaps showing joint families, Sreejita believes that she would never fit into the space of a joint family. She believes that every couple needs their own space. Ajab Gjab Ghar Jamai, Sssh koi hai, Maniben.com, Aahat, Miley Jab Hum Tum and Ladies Special are a few of her noted TV works. She played female in ‘Annu Ki Ho Gayee Waah Bhai Waah’.
