Smriti Mehra Biography 
Smriti Mehra, also known as Smriti Mehra Guffin is a former golf player from India and one of the successful female sports personalities from Kolkata. She is the first Indian to earn a full card on the Ladies European Tour (LPGA Tour). Only one Indian lady golf-player has been able to reach this achievement. It is Sharmila Nicollet from Bangalore who won the 2009–2010 Order of Merit on the Women's Golf Association of India, after one and a half decade or so.
The popular Golfer Smriti Mehra was born on 21st May in 1972. She was born and brought up in Kolkata. Mehra’s professional career started in the year 1994. After that she didn’t look back. In 1996, she won the second tier Futures Tour and secured promotion to the renowned LPGA Tour. Malaysian National Championship in 1993 and Indian National Match Play Championship and Indian National Stroke Play Championship the following year are her major amateur wins before the win at LPTA. Her future tour wins include 1996 Green Mountain National Futures Golf Classic and 2004 Frye Classic. She also won Malaysian Open in 2010. She represented India in World cup 2008.
After an outstanding career, she had to undergo a shoulder surgery in 2005 which brought a temporary halt to her shining career. She gave one of her best performances in LPGA Tour held in October 2006 following the surgery. LPTA works towards the betterment of female professional golf players across the world. Her career best finish was 4th position at Australian Ladies Masters 1998. She now thinks about starting a coaching program for young girls and boys in the country.
