Skanda Ashok Biography

Skanda Ashok is a film actor associated with south Indian film industry. He appears in all the four south Indian language films. He made his impressive debut as a teenager through the highly acclaimed Malayalam film, Notebook, released in 2006, where he played the male lead - Sooraj Menon, Sreedevi's lover. He bagged Asianet Film Award for Best New Face of the Year (Male) for this role. Later he went on to work in all the four south Indian language film industries. He is currently associated with Kannada television industry too, currently plays male lead in Radha Ramana since 2017. He was earlier seen in Agnisakshi (2016) and Lakshmi Baaramma(2017) too.

 

Ashok hails from Chikmagalur, Karnataka. He was born in 1986. He made an impressive debut with Malayalam teenage love story, Notebook in 2006, which dealt with teenage pregnancy and its consequences. He was casted aside three teenagers, Parvathy, Roma and Mariya Roy, who also marked their film debut with Notebook. He portrayed the lead role of Sooraj Menon in the movie which opened to very positive reviews. Later he was credited as Sooraj in his Malayalam movies like Elektra, Positive etc. Bit later Ashok mostly concentrated to Kannada films, apart from appearing in a few Tamil and Telugu films.

 

He played the lead role in Malli Malli (2009), a Telugu romantic film co-starring Kalyani. But the movie flopped at box office. He played a supporting role of Nayanthara’s brother in Elektra (2010) directed by Shyamaprasad. Manisha koirala played their mother’s role. Chaarulatha (2012), U Turn (2016) and Mupparimanam (2017) are some of the roles in films later, before he switched on to television shows.
