Silambarasan Rajendar Biography

Silambarasan Rajendar is an Indian actor and film director. He entered the Tamil film industry in 2002 under his father’s direction. He has acted in many films as a child artist and worked his way to become a hero.

Silambarasan Profile

He was born on 16th September 1982 in Chennai. His parents are Vijaya T. Rajendar and Usha Rajender. He is the eldest of three children. He has one younger brother Kuralarasan and one younger sister Elakkiya. He studied at Don Bosco Matriculation School and at Santhome Higher Secondary School. Then he studied at The Ashram School and has a degree in Audio Engineering Course.

 

He has acted in 19 films as a child artist all of them produced by his father. Some of the films in which he has acted as a child artist are Enga Veettu Velan, En Thangai Kalyaani, Monisha En Monalisa, Samsara Sangeetham, Petredutha Pillai, etc.

 

His debut film in the lead role was Kaathal Azhivathillai in Tamil. This film was successful giving him a place in Tamil film industry. He wrote screenplay for the film Manmadhan in which he has acted in the dual role with actress Jyothika Saravanan. This was a mega hit boosting his name and fame.

 

He acted with Trisha Krishnan in the film Vinnaiththaandi Varuvaaya. He acted with Nayanthara in the film Vallavan. They were dating for sometimes and were later separated. Poda Podi is a romantic musical film.

 

Some of the films that he has acted as an adult artist are Dum, Alai, Kadhal Azhivathillai, Kuthu, Manmathan, Thotti Jaya, Vaanam, Saravana, Silambattam, oa, Kaalai, etc. He has sung songs for the films like Sama Sama Yama Yama in Drohi, Sundara Purusha in Murattu Kaalai, Pattu Pattu in Thillalangadi, No Money No Honey in Vaanam, Nathiyile Alai Ondru in Doo, Loosu Penne, Kadhal Vanthiruchu and Yammaadi Aathaadi in Vallavan, En Aasai Mythiliye in Manmadhan, etc.

 

In the year 2006, he received Kalaimamani Award from Government of Tamil Nadu. He has also won Isaiyaruvi Tamil Music Awards, Edison Award and Big Tamil Most Entertaining Actor Award. He was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Vijay Award for Favorite Hero for the film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.
