Shubhankar Sharma Biography 
Shubhankar Sharma is an Indian golfer from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. An Arjuna awardee, he also received Asian Tour Order of Merit and Masters Tournament: CUT in year 2018. He recorded his first tour win in the Joburg Open, followed by Maybank Championship in February 2018, and currently is one of the hot players of Indian golf scene. Sharma is associated with this profession since 2013. He has now reached No. 66 in the World Golf Rankings and earned a special invitation to the Masters.
Shubhankar Sharma was born on 21 July 1996 in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. His father is an army colonel. He turned a professional golf player in 2013 and has registered some major wins in the past 6 years or so. In 2014 he played Asian Development Tour followed by Panasonic Open India, where he finished at 4th position. He has been a regular player at Asian Tour since 2015, and played extraordinarily well also. TAKE Solutions India Masters in 2015, Panasonic Open India 2015, Bashundhara Bangladesh Open 2016 where he finished third, Resorts World Manila Masters at fourth position etc are some of the major tournaments he played till now. He finished 51st in the Order of Merit.
Sharma has won twice on the European Tour since December 2017, and he tied for ninth at the World Golf Championship in Mexico City. He played in the final group with Phil Mickelson in World Golf Championship. Among players who hit the best approach shots from the right rough versus the left rough, Sharma is one among those. He is a strict vegetarian who has never eaten meat in his life. His whole family is vegetarian and it's a religious choice. Beyond being vegetarian, he's also allergic to gluten. Rice is a staple of his diet when he is at home and he is willing to take rice meals thrice a day with some curry.
