Shubhangi Gokhale Biography

Shubhangi Gokhale is a noted Marathi and Hindi television actress. She is the wife of deceased character artist of Bollywood and Marathi entertainment industry, Mohan Gokhale who played the title role in on Doordarshan show Mr. Yogi. She lost her husband at a young age. Their daughter Sakhi Gokhale too is associated with Marathi television entertainment industry as an actress. Shubhangi’s popular Marathi shows include - Kahe Diya Pardes, Gangadhar Tipre, Eks Lagnachi Tisari Goshta etc, and she has been a part of Hindi television shows, Chidiya Ghar, Koshish, Lapataganj, Hum Hai Naa and also worked with her husband in Doordarshan series, Mr. Yogi in 1989.

She was born in Pune in the year 1953. Prior to her marriage with Mohan Gokhale in the early 1990s, she was associated with films, television and numerous plays of the decade. She also shared screen space with Mohan in 1989 series, Mr. Yogi. They had a good age gap of 15 years. After marriage she took a break from the industry and concentrated on to her family life looking after their daughters, Sakhi Gokhale and Sakshi Gokhale. She returned to work after her husband’s death in 1999, aged only 45. She was only 30 then.

She appeared in year 2000 release, Hey Ram. It was during the film’s shooting when her husband had a severe heart attack which took away his life. She later appeared in Bollywood flick - Moksha: Salvation and fully concentrated on to Marathi films. Zenda, Shriyut Gangadhar Tipre, Sa Sasucha, Kon AAhe Re Tikade, Bokya Satbande and Aga Bai Arrecha are some of Marathi films in which she appeared. As a theatre artist, she acted in the plays - Soor Rahu De, Sakhar Khallea Manus etc and also worked in many television shows.
