Shriswara Biography

Shriswara is an Indian film actress, associated with Hindi entertainment industry. She is best known for playing supporting roles, and has appeared in movies, short films, television etc, and currently a part of Indian web series too. As an actress, she is best known for playing the role of Nafisa in the film D-Day, which marked her film debut in 2013. In fact, she played the role of Nirmal Kaur, Indian Women's Volleyball Team Captain in the biopic - Bhaag Milkha Bhaag before the release of D-Day. But unfortunately all her scenes got deleted in the final cut of this blockbuster movie. Singham Returns, Guddu Rangeela and Rangoon are a few more filmy roles. She played the role of Aruna Sharma in the popular web series, Breathe (2018) co-starring Madhavan.

Shriswara was born and brought up in Lucknow, UP. Shriswara waited for years for such a break. Her father is a great fan of old Hindi music, and music became a part of their daily life. She and her sister grew up listening to soundtracks on audio cassettes. She and her sister used to go to movies and concerts together, and watched numerous movies in the theatre in her neighbourhood. Since those days she had great passion towards films and songs.

Shriswara studied science but her heart was in performing arts. Initially she performed on stage, mostly semi-classical dance. In 1997, she finally decided to work in Hindi films and nothing else. But for a girl without filmy backup or experience in acting, it was not an easy task. She waited like hundreds of other aspirants, going to studios with her portfolio and being turned away.

Finally, she was cast in two films — Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as Farhan’s wife and D-Day, as Wali Khan's wife. She was nominated in Screen Weekly Awards for "Most Promising Newcomer - Female"  for her role as Nafisa in D-Day. After that she started receiving roles from all forms of entertainment network. She has acted in a few short films and web series also. She played the wife’s role in award winning short film, Spoon opposite Vaquar Shaikh.
