Shivpal Singh Yadav Biography

Shivpal Singh Yadav was born on April 6, 1955 in Saifai village of Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh in the family of Sughar Singh Yadav and Murti Devi. He is younger brother of Samajwadi Party President Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle of present Chief Minister of UP Akhilesh Singh Yadav. Presently he lives in Lucknow with wife Sarla Yadav.

Shivpal Singh Yadav did High School with merit and went on to complete his intermediate from Jain Inter College, Karhal Mainpuri District. Shivpal Sing completed his graduation K.K.Degree College, Etawah (Affiliated to Kanpur University) in 1976 and later completed his bachelor of physical education and completed it in 1977 from Lucknow University.

Mr.Shivpal Singh Yadav has been a MLA of Uttar Pradesh assembly for twenty years. His political career started at an early age as his elder brother Mulayam Singh Yadav encouraged him to join politics. Shivpal Singh Yadav was elected president of the district Sehkari bank and successfully completed his tenure in 1991. In the year 1995 he became the president of district panchayat and soon contested election of legislative assembly from Jaswant Nagar and won leaving all his comptitiors well behind. That paved the way for his way and was appointed General Secretary of the Samjwadi Party of Uttar Pradseh.

In the year 2009 Shivapal Singh took over as President of the Uttar Pradesh sawajwadi party and carried on the work of his brother and Party President Mr.Mulayam Singh Yadav. He was also the leader of the opposition in UP Assembly. There are so many issues he fought against the then government of Mayavati as leader of the opposition including poverty, women empowerment and for the development of common man.
