Shivaji (malayalam Actor) Biography

Shivaji was a popular character artist associated with Malayalam cinema. He played many noted roles in the 1980s and 1990s. “Enikkum Oru Divasam'' released in 1982 was his debut flick. Kamal’s highly praised film – Perumazhakalam (2004) was his last release. He was also seen in the highly appreciated movie, Kathavasheshan the same year. He died at a comparatively young age of only 47 in 2004. He died at Thiruvananthapuram following a cardiac arrest. He was quite active in film scene till his death and spent more than two decades in the industry. He excelled in essaying negative shaded roles. He was also active with theatric and has also done a few television roles.  

 

He belonged to Pattambi in Palakkad district. He was born to a doctor - Dr. A.K. Warrier and his wife Kamalam Varasyar on 12 May 1957. He was married to Jayasree and had one daughter – Unnimaya. Rajadrohi directed by Bepur Mani was his first film. But the movie was not released. Later Shivaji started his film career in 1982 with the film, “Enikkum Oru Divasam'' directed by Sreekumaran Thampi. Mohan Lal and Nedumudi Venu co-starred in his movie. It was followed by Kaaliyamarddanam – the same year, his first credited role. Ariyapedatha Rahasyam, Iratti Madhuram etc are some of his early releases. Though he played numerous bit roles and supporting roles throughout 1980s, it was during late 1980s and early 1990s he rose to prominence.

 

He entered small screen through 1989 serial – Vettah, and gained recognition through numerous roles he played on small screen. His last film releases were Perumazhakalam and Kathavasheshan. Actor Dileep played male lead in both these movies. He is a recipient of numerous awards for theater and television and has also won Kerala State Film Critics award.
