Shital Mahajan Biography 
Shital Mahajan is an Indian adventurous sportswoman best known as a skydiver. She also holds Six World records and 17 National records in this sport. She currently holds the record of being the youngest woman to jump over both the North and South Poles, and also the first woman jumper to perform it without trials. For her contributions towards adventurous sports, especially skydiving, Government of India honoured him with the fourth highest civilian honour - Padma Shri in 2011. She has been nicknamed as Queen of Sky, Jump Queen, Flying Bird etc.
She is a holder of a series of national and world records, and at many times she created records without proper training or trail jumps, which make them unique achievements in this risky sport. She is known to be the first woman to have done her first ever parachute jump without any training. She made this feat over the Geographical North pole in minus 37 degree Celsius from 2400 feet. She also made first accelerated free fall jump without any trials, and it was done at over the Antarctica - South Pole from 11,600 feet, in minus 38 degree Celsius.
Shital Mahajan Rane was born on 19 September 1982 at Pune, Maharashtra. Her father Kamalakar Mahajan worked as a machine worker at Tata Motors, while her mother Mamata Mahajan is a housewife. She was inspired the achievements of her brother, and took to the adventurous sport of para jumping. She made her first jump on 18 April 2004, and has completed 700 dives since then. For her achievements, she has been honoured with Padma Shri in 2011, Tensing Norgay National Adventure Award in 2006, Shiv Chatrapati Maharashtra State Sports Special Award 2004 – 2005 and many other honours. She is married to Vaibhav Rane, and the couple has been blessed by twin sons.
