Shine Tom Chacko Biography

Shine Tom Chacko is a Malayalam film actor known for playing lead and supporting roles. He shot to fame after playing lead role in Binu. S’ debut flick Itihaasa in 2014. The fantasy comedy film on body swapping was well received by critics and audience and this small budget movie was a sleeper hit too. He was most recently seen in a cameo role in same director’s second directorial venture – Style (2016). Kinder Joy, Kammatipaadam, Third World Boys and Bibleo are his projects in pipeline.

In January 2015, Kerala was shocked to hear the news of his arrest along with his four friends in a flat at Kochi, for possessing cocaine worth 10 lakh Indian rupees. The arrest fuelled the media and Kerala social life, as the raided flat belonged to Muhammad Nisham, the prime accused of security guard Chandra Bose’s assault in the Sobha City, Thrissur a few days back. Chandra Bose succumbed to injuries very soon. This murder was one of the most highlighted crimes of Kerala in the recent times. All his arrested friends were ladies – an assistant director Blessy and three models - Reshma, Tincy and Sneha, which added more fuels to the arrest.

He hails from Chalakkudy of Thrissur district. He was born on 15 September 1983. Shine worked as an assistant director to Kamal for long nine years before he marked his debut as an actor. In fact he started off his acting career with Kamal’s comeback movie, Ghadamma, released in 2011. In the movie he played the pivot role of the shepherd Basher. The film starred Kavya Madhavan in the lead role. Since then Shine has played numerous supporting roles till Itihaasa happened to him in 2014.

Initially many actors rejected the title role of Itihaasa and finally the director roped Anusree and Shine Tom Chacko to play the lead roles. The movie’s success brought him instant fame. A local goon in Annayum Rasoolum, a psychopath killer in Ee Adutha Kalam and a criminal on parole in Chapters are some of the noted roles he played later.
