Shikha Talsania Biography

Shikha Talsania is a Bollywood film actress best known for the lead and supporting roles she played in Wake Up Sid (2009), Project 11 (2011) and Veere Di Wedding (2018). She played one among the four friends, and the parallel lead in Bollywood’s recent blockbuster, Veere Di Wedding (2018). The other actresses with whom she shared screen space are Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Swara bhaskar. This women-centric bold film was given ‘A’ certificate by censor board, but it turned to be one of the blockbuster hits of 2018. The film was indeed popular among youth, though drew controversies for a few film scenes.

Shikha Talsania belongs to a family with acting background. She is the daughter of popular actor and comedian, Tiku Talsania who has been associated with many Bollywood films and TV serials, and a few ads too. Shikha was first noticed in 2009 film, Wake Up Sid, where she played Ranbir’s best friend. She has also starred in movies like My Friend Pinto and Midnight’s Children, though her roles were small.

The actress shot to fame after she played one of the female leads in Veere Di Wedding. There is an impressive scene in one of the songs of Veere Di Wedding where the actress steps out, reluctantly, in a swimsuit, despite being fat. It speaks loud about the dreams of girls and women’s freedom. The movie has played a great role in shaping Shikha’s career.

She has been an average student in studies, and so the family members used to say, she will become an actor like her father. She lived near to Seema Biswas’ home, and on insistence she once took Shikha to the film sets of Deepa Mehta’s Midnight’s Children. It ended up Shikha playing a brief role in the movie. She has been a line-producer the most in her career and also handled the post-production of two seasons of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and other TV shows like Pati, Patni aur Woh, Indian Idol 3 and Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.
