Shiboprosad Mukherjee is a film personality associated with Bengali cinema. He is known as an actor, producer and director, who has been associated with Nandita Roy for many projects as a film director. The duo has directed many Bengali movies successfully. Shiboprosad Mukherjee is also a screenwriter apart from directing and acting in movies. Bela Seshe, Icche, Muktodhara, Accident, Alik Sukh and Ramdhanu are the best movies directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy. All these movies have met with critical and commercial success in the recent times. Bela Seshe released in English in 2015 is their latest release. The movie brought the iconic pair of Bengali screen - Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta after a big gap of 30 years.

He is a native of Baranagar of Kolkata, West Bengal. His schooling was completed at Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School and Hindu School, and completed graduation in politics from Jadavpur University. Since school days he got drawn towards theater and started his career as a trainer in the theatre school soon after his schooling. He received guidance from great theatre personalities like Rudraprasad Sengupta, Rituporno Ghosh, Ibrahim Alkazi etc. He also worked as a freelancer journalist during his early days of acting.

After his theatric experience, he entered small screen and acted in the television serials - Janmabhoomi, Ghoom nei etc. He made his acting debut on big screen with the 1997 movie, Char Adhyay in a supporting role. Later he was seen in the movies – Bariwali and Ekti Nadir Naam. He joined hands with Nandita Roy and directed the first film -   Icche in 2011, which was a box office hit. Since then they have produced and directed many Bengali movies, and Shiboprosad earned name as a screenwriter and a successful filmmaker. Currently he owns a production house Windows Productions.
