Shalini Passi Biography

Shalini Passi is an art collector and art patron based in Delhi. She is also a philanthropist and artist. She owns a huge collection of art works of contemporary artists like M. F. Hussain, Subodh Gupta, Bharti Kher etc. 'The Warp and Weft of Perception' and ‘Through My Eyes’ are among the solo exhibitions held by Shalini in Delhi. She also owns collections of international artists like Vladimir Kagan, Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst etc. She is the Creative Director of Pasco group of companies.

 

Shalini Passi was born and brought up in Delhi. Shalini Passi is married to Sanjay, and has one son Robin. The family lives in a sweeping curve of a home in New Delhi’s posh Golf Links neighbourhood. The house is shaped like a gentle boomerang and filled with different types of art works. The walls of the home are filled by paintings, video art, sculptures, installations, gilt wood mirrors, bookshelves etc. She is obsessive in collecting art objects. Whenever she sees something beautiful or interesting, she makes a note of it and researches it thoroughly. She frequently visits museums, scours antique shops, look at fabric, feels the textures of stone and observes the beauty of an object.

 

She is an advisory board member of Khoj, an NGO promoting contemporary art. She is also a Patron of FICA and Kochi-Muziris Biennale. She has been associated with philanthropic activities since 2010. Through a series of workshops she has been involved in educating underprivileged children in Delhi. She also supports and donates for "The Delhi Society for the Welfare of Special Children". Shalini Passi Art Foundation and MASH are two organizations founded by Shalini in 2018 with the sole aim of promoting art and emerging talents.
