Shakti Anand Biography

Shakti Anand is a popular actor associated with Hindi entertainment industry. He got his break to television through the longest running TV series, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and since then he is active in the TV industry playing lead and supporting roles. He became extremely popular through the drama series Ek Ladki Anjaani si, where he played the male protagonist opposite Kanchi Kaul. Saara Akaash, Sambhav Asambhav, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Godh Bharaai etc are some of his popular roles later. He hosted the first season of the crime reality show Crime Patrol in 2004 and has participated in the first season of dancing reality show, Nach Baliye aside his wife Sai Deodhar. He has been one of the popular TV stars in the early and mid-2000s.

He was born in Delhi on September 23, 1975. He completed his schooling in the Tamil Education Association in Delhi. He never thought that he would join acting line. Acting just happened to him. He got the character role of Hemant Virani in one of early successful TV soaps, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. He got noticed for his debut role and since then he started accepting more TV roles as an actor and anchor. The lead role of Captain Vikram in the very popular weekly soap 'Saara Akaash' was his major breakthrough. His lead of Nikhil Samarth in Ek Ladki Anjaani Si established his career. He was at the top slot of actors in the first half of 2000s.

Siddharth Nath in Sambhav Asambhav, Captain Kishan in Ssshhhh...Koi Hai, Omkar Sinha in Bhaskar Bharti, Maharana Udai Singh in Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap etc are a few more TV roles. He hosted the shows - Crime Patrol and Good Morning Zindagi. He was born into a Punjabi family in Delhi. Both his parents were associated with cine industry. His father was a cameraman, and mother – a Marathi filmmaker. Shakti had a brief stint in theater and has also appeared in many TV commercials. He acted in one film - 'Laagi Prem Lagan' with Sonali Kulkarni and Isha Koppikar. But the movie got shelved.
