Shail Hada Biography

Shail Hada is an Indian playback singer born and brought up in Rajasthan. His biggest break was the title track of Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Saawariya, composed by Monty Sharma. He has been associated with Sanjay Leela Bansali as a background scorer or music arranger since his movie ‘Black’ and has worked for ‘Guzarish’ as well.

 

Shail Hada, also known as Shail Sturm was born on April 11, 1975 in Kota, Rajasthan. His father Shri Jaswant Singh Hada is a renowned vocalist and Shail got his initial vocal training from him. He studied at St. Pauls Mala road, Kota and did his M.A. in Music from Kota University and Sangeet Visharad from Gandharava Mahavidyalya. He was the disciple of Pt.Aaskaran Sharma at Gandharava Mahavidyalya. He has won many musical competitions at National level from Mumbai.

 

His filmy career began with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black in the year 2005. He sang background vocals for the movie. After that, he assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in both the projects he did later – Saawariya and Guzarish. His biggest break was when Monty Sharma offered the title track of Sawariya to Shail Hada. Shail also worked as an assistant to Monty Sharma in this movie. The movie pictured Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor as debutants and the yodeling song was pictured on this couple. He sang the reprise version of the same song too. His voice hit the high notes with perfection.

 

In the next project, Guzarish also, Shail worked as an assistant director as well as a playback singer. He sung the songs for Hrithik Roshan in this movie. He rendered his voice to the tracks - Guzaarish, Keh Na Saku, Tera Zikr and Udi for the movie. He has also sung for Suriya’s Tamil movie – Aadhavan. The hit song is yeno yeno panithulli. His other hit songs as a playback singer include What’s up, mere brother and Badmash laundey of Heroes, Mayad teri woh and Har har Mahadev of Maharana Pratap: The First Freedom Fighter, Dhatad Thatad of Lafangey parindey, Kubool of Wada raha and Tiledhar Dupatta of Right ya wrong. He has also sung one song for Telugu movie, Orange – Rooba rooba, music given by Harris Jayaraj.
