Shahi Kabir Biography

Shahi Kabir is a promising story and screenwriter of Malayalam cinema, best known for scripting 2018 super hit investigation thriller Joseph, starring Joju George. The film’s super success and realistic story has already given him a promising career ahead. In 2015 he has scripted and directed one award winning short film, In? Glorious Life. In fact after scripting Joseph, he worked as an assistant director on Dileesh's Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum as he dreamt to direct the film. Later the movie was directed by Padma Kumar. Shahi still nourishes to direct a full-fledged film and is currently working on an offbeat script.

Shahi Kabir is a police office by profession and is 40 years old. Yet he owns an artistic mind, with great passion towards films. He has been a movie buff since childhood, and movies also give him a lot of relief from his rough and tough police career. He has been dreaming to script and direct films since young, and still working for the same. He has been now posted in Kottayam under Kerala police department.

As a screen writer short film, In? Glorious Life was his first work, followed by Joseph which marks his debut in Malayalam film industry. Joseph tries to create awareness among the scams which happens in organ donation and transplantation, but it received flake from Kerala medical body for presenting such a fictional story so much realistic. It fears that such scripts may discourage people from donating organs, while many patients are waiting for it. Joseph starred Jijo George, Dileesh Pothan, Athmeeya and Madhuri Braganza in lead roles with a strong supporting cast.
