Shaheen Banu Biography

Shaheen Banu is a former Bollywood actress, who was active in the era of  late1980s and early 1990s. She mostly portrayed character roles onscreen. She is best remembered for the roles she played in Maha-Sangram (1990) and Ayee Milan Ki Raat (1991). Shaheen Banu is the niece of famous Bollywood actress, Saira Banu. Banu was Salman Khan’s first alleged girlfriend before he became a Bollywood star.

 

Shaheen Banu is the niece of Bollywood actress, Saira Banu, and actor Dilip Kumar. Shaheen was married to romantic hero of 1980s - Sumeet Saigal. After a brief marriage they got divorced in the early 2000s. The couple has one daughter - Sayesha Saigal who has already debuted south Indian film industry in 2015 and she is to debut Bollywood with Ajay Devgan starrer – Shivaay. Sayesha is living with her mother for the past 14 years. Sumeet Saigal is now married to his co-star of 1980s – Farah (elder sister of Tabu).

 

Shaheen Banu was Salman Khan’s first alleged girlfriend, long before Salman Khan became a star in Bollywood. They met for the first time while Salman Khan got an offer in Bollywood. Though they really loved each other, their love couldn’t withstand the test of time and very soon Salman came under the spotlight. He had to concentrate on to his career and thus they broke up. It’s said that Salman was in touch with Shaheen until he met Sangeeta Bijlani.

 

Shaheen too debut Bollywood following Salman’s debut. Though she worked in a few movies, she failed to achieve success. Yet she is remembered for a few character roles like Maha-Sangram and Ayee Milan Ki Raat in the early 1990s. The actress went onto marry actor, Sumeet Saigal in 1997. But the couple got separated in 2000, three years after marriage. Later Shaheen brought up her single daughter.
