Shabina Khan (costume Designer) Biography

Shabina Khan is a celebrity associated with Bollywood films, known as a film producer and fashion designer. Shabina Khan has started working as a fashion designer from 1988 and has designed costumes for over thirty films. As a costume designer, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Vivah, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Hum Aapke Hain Koun are her best works. She co-produced two Akshay Kumar starrer movies - Rowdy Rathore (2012) and Gabbar is Back (2015) and both became commercial hits at box office. She has also designed costumes for Suriya starrer Tamil film - 7aum Arivu.

Associated with Karan Johar from his debut movie, she designed the popular costumes of the campus oriented movie, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and the traditional Indian dresses in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham with equal ease, and she has played a significant role in placing these movies in the hit list. She designed costumes for Madhuri Dixit in the musical Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Aishwarya rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, which attributed a lot to the ‘colourful’ success of both these films. Vivaah, Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United and Hum Aapke Hain Koun are her successful ventures with Sooraj Bharjatiya. Her designs are in sync with the time and have become trendsetters for younger generations. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kambakkht Ishq are the best instances.

Spent almost three decades in the industry she has designed costumes for almost all leading male and female artists of the industry, including Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai, Kajol, Rani Mukherji, Manisha Koirala, Kareena Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit etc. She is a premium costume designer in Bollywood today. Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, Chachi 420, Dil Tera Aashiq, Kambakkht Ishq, Kuch to hai, Dil Kya Kare, Hello Brother, Khoobsurat, Thakshak, Fida, Khamoshi: The Musical, Dil se, Zakhm etc are a few more best works.
