Senthil Kumar Biography

Senthil Kumar, popularly known as Mirchi Senthil is a popular radio jockey from Tamil Nadu. He is also known as a film and television actor, television presenter and voice actor. He began his career as a radio jockey with the radio station Radio Mirchi. He became immensely popular in Radio Mirchi that he came to be known as Mirchi Senthil. He played antagonist role in STAR Vijay's sensational serial Saravannan Meenatchi. He debut big screen with 2005 movie, Thavamai Thavamirundhu where he played supporting role. Later he played lead roles in Sengathu Bhoomiyilae, Kan Pesum Vaarthaigal and Vennila Veedu.

 

Senthil was born in Chennai on 18 October, 1978 to S. Govindan and Premavathy. His school days were spent at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Chennai and completed his Bachelor degree in Commerce at Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai. He completed Master’s in Finance and Control at Madurai Kamaraj University and had a short stint in banking field before entering entertainment industry. Senthil joined Radio Mirchi in 2003 as a radio jockey. Later he worked as Radio producer, EP and Programming Head for Mirchi. He headed Radio Mirchi Coimbatore for 4 years later. Mirchi Gold, Mirchi Bazaar, Pettai Raap and Love Talkies are his successful programs as a radio jockey and now he is anchoring Neenga Naan Raja Sir, a special program on the music Maestro Ilaiyaraaja's music.

 

Senthil entered small screen in 2007 and appeared in many television serials. His lead role as Saravanan in STAR Vijay's sensational serial Saravannan Meenatchi made him a household name. He also played lead role in ‘Madurai’. Senthil has also hosted a number of shows for STAR Vijay. Tamil Cinema Indha Vaaram and game show – Boxing are most popular.
