Seetha Biography

Seetha is a south Indian film and television actress who predominantly works in Tamil movies. She made her acting debut in the year 1985 and played lead roles in a few movies before she quit the field in 1990, following her marriage with co-star R. Parthiepan, a noted Tamil hero. She made her comeback in the early 2000’s after her divorce and she played supporting roles in movies, apart from several leading roles in Tamil television serials. She became a household name through numerous roles she played through television serials. The national award winning child artist Keerthana of Kannathil Muthamittal fame is the daughter of Seetha and Parthiepan. She has one more daughter, Abinaya from the first marriage. Now she is married to Satish, small screen actor.



Seetha was born to film actor Mohan Babu. Aan Paavam in 1985 was her debut movie. Later she appeared in movies like Aayiram Pookkal Malarattum, Malare Kurinjimalare, Guru Sishyan, Ival Oru Pournami, Nilavai Kaiyella Pidichen, Pudhea Paadhai, Rajanadai, Manaivi Oru Mandiri, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Ore Ratham, Thangaikku Oru Thalattu, Shankar Guru, Thangachi, Sakthi Parasakthi, Unnal Mudiyum Thambi, Mallu Vetti Minor, Thulasi etc in which she appeared in lead and supporting roles. She fell in love with Parthiepan in the sets of Pudhea Paadhai in 1989. The following year they got married and she took a break from the industry.



She made her comeback in 2002 portraying mother role in Maaran. Two years later she got the maiden state award for the movie, Rightaa Thappaa where she was awarded for the supporting role. Velan, Pen and Idayam are her noted television roles. She has also portrayed noted supporting roles in Malayalam movies like Vinodayatra, Thanmatra, Indian rupee, Currency, Grand master and Note book.
