Saurabh Chaudhary Biography

Saurabh Chaudhary is an Indian sportsman and shooter from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He came to spotlight after he won Gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in 10 m air pistol with an Asian record. A gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany and a new junior world record of 243.7 points, earlier this year is his second best achievement till now. He is India’s first gold medalist shooter at the Asian Games 2018. Saurabh Chaudhary is the fifth Indian gold medalist at Asian Games in shooting.

 

He debut Asian games in 2018 and won a gold medal in the debut tournament. Son of a farmer, belonging to a middle-class family, his achievements till now at a young age of 16 are really stunning. He is only 16 when he clinched his maiden Asian games gold medal. He aggregated 240.7 points at Asian games final in 10 m air pistol event. It’s an Asian games record just broken. He took over the record of 2010 World Champion Tomoyuki Matsuda on the penultimate shot in the 24-shot final.

 

 Saurabh Chaudhary, the sports shooter hails from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Kalina is his village, where he was born as the son of a farmer. He was born on 11 May 2002. It’s quite surprising that Chaudhary took up this sport only three years back. He like farming and whenever he goes back to village, he assists his father. He debut at Asian Championships at Tehran in 2016 at the age of 14. He took training from Amit Sheoran’s academy at Benoli near Baghpat, which is 53 kms from Meerut, his hometown. Saurabh qualified for the Youth Olympics Games with a gold medal and a junior world record at the qualification.
