Satya Krishnan Biography

Satya Krishnan is a south Indian film actress, who pre-dominantly works in Telugu film industry. She marked her acting debut in the year 2000 playing supporting roles, and bagged Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actress for the year 2004 for her second release – Anand. She did the film after a break of 4 years, after settled with her family life. She started her film journey with Dollar Dreams, playing the female lead. Bommarillu, Premante Inte, Lovely, Modati Cinema, Ullasamga Utsahamga and Vinayakudu etc are some of the popular roles she played on Telugu screen.

 

Satya Krishnan was born on 11 May 1982 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh (present-day Telangana). She completed her studies from Hyderabad, where she did a hotel management course. She worked as a hotel management professional with Taj group of hotels before her entry to films. Her dream was to be an air hostess. However destiny was something else, and she joined film industry. She has acted in around 50 movies in a career spanning to more than 18 years. Though she mostly played supporting roles in the early phase of her career, she slowly graduated to lead roles.

 

After her marriage, she took up a job at BNP Paribas Bank at Punjagutta. After four years, Sekhar Kammula, who gave her the debut role for Dollar Dreams in year 2000, came up with Anand’s script and asked her to do an interesting role. It took around 5 months to finish the shooting of the film, which gave her the single state award. Though she played lead role in her debut film, often said to be a cameo role, it went unnoticed, and people started noticing her only after Anand. Later she worked in many movies in supporting roles before she bagged the lead role of ‘Mental Krishna’.
