Satinder Satti Biography

Satinder Satti is a multifaceted personality associated with Indian entertainment industry. She is a successful TV anchor, actor, singer, model, poet, dancer and performer. She formerly served as the chairperson of Punjab Arts Council. Among all, she remained most successful as a star anchor and has also received many awards. In music, she is associated with Punjabi Bhangra. Kuch khat tere naam – is the collection of her poems published. She successfully anchored shows like Kujh Pal Tere Naam, Excuse Me Please, Lishkara, Caught On Camera and Dil Diyan Gallan, and has appeared in a few Punjabi films.

 

Satinder Satti is nicknamed as Satti. Batala of Punjab is her hometown. She celebrates her birthday on 13th December. She completed her college studies from RR Bawa DAV College, Batala and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, where she took Master’s in law. She started her career as an anchor while studying at Guru Nanak Dev University, when she anchored youth festivals and cultural events. Very soon she got offers from television for anchoring TV shows, and over the years she has worked with Doordarshan, Alpha Punjabi, E.T.C. and PTC channels. Apart from her role as an anchor, she is also a performer on stage and a singer. She has two music albums to her credit - Moh and Peeng.

 

She was seen in Punjabi films - Lal Chudiyan, Saanjh Dilaan Di, Myself Pendu and Jee Ayan Nu playing supporting roles. When Satinder Satti was appointed as one of the top three posts of the Punjab Arts Council in 2013, the decision was welcomed with high protests from artists. Some of them viewed it as an “insult to the council's rich legacy”.
