Sanya Malhotra is a new face in Bollywood industry who is to debut big screen playing Aamir Khan’s daughter in his 2016 Biographical Sports film – Dangal. Aamir Khan portrays the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, the wrestler who taught wrestling to his daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat, both who went on to become India’s leading female wrestlers winning several medals at international championships including Asian games and Common wealth games. Sanya is to play the role of younger sister, Babita Kumari for the film. This girl with curly hair, born and brought up in Delhi, is a trained ballet dancer.

Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra have bagged the much coveted roles after months of auditions. 21000 girls were rejected before these two bagged the title roles. There were a lot of speculations that the role of Aamir khan’s daughters might be played by Kangana Ranaut, Tapsee Pannu or Urvashi Rautela. Fatima Sana Shaikh bagged the role of Geeta Phogat, the elder sister for the movie. The film will focus on the two girls who at the age of 20 and 22 who made history and Aamir khan plays a 55-year old wrestler. Aamir khan, the perfectionist has already instructed his personal dietitian to pen down suitable diet charts for both the girls and has asked them to do proper workouts.

She was born in Delhi in 1992 into a Hindu family. Apart from being a trained ballet dancer, she has also dreamt to become an actress and has given auditions for numerous movies. Dangal happens to be her debut movie. She is also a model by profession and has appeared in several TV ads. Sanya Malhotra was seen in Wynk music app commercial - Music Badlo, Mood Badlo.
