Santhosh Prathap is a film actor working in the Tamil film industry, known for playing lead roles. He marked his debut with Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam (2014) in a lead role, and his second release was Dhayam (2017), India's First Single Room Thriller. It was director Kannan Rangaswamy’s debut film and he died soon after film release following a cardiac arrest aged only 29. Bayama Irukku is his third release where he played a male lead opposite Reshmi Menon. Now a series of movies are lined for release and a handful projects in pipeline. Naan Avalai Sandhitha Pothu, Podhu Nalan Karudhi, Mr. Chandramouli, Meendum Vaa Arugil Vaa and Yen Peyar Anandhan are his upcoming projects.

Santhosh Prathap was born on June 2, 1987. He is currently settled in Chennai. He completed his Master’s in Business Administration before he pursued a career in film industry. Santhosh briefly worked as a model before he marked his film debut. He made his acting debut with Kathai Thiraikkathai Vasanam Iyakkam (2014) directed by R. Parthiban, which opened to rave reviews for his performance. Santhosh was nominated at Vijay Award for Best Debut Actor, though he couldn’t win it. He played the role of a struggling director in the film.

His second film, Dhayam, an experimental single room thriller also received good reviews for his performance. The movie was set completely in a single room. This film was released almost after a break of 3 years. The movie played a major role to lift his career graph. Bayama Irukku got released the same year and he earned one more commercial hit. After that he bagged a handful of Tamil projects and has turned a busy actor.
