Sanjeev Balyan Biography

The second youngest and Dynamic Minister of State- Agriculture & Food Processing is the face of youth leadership and is committed for second green and white revolution. Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, a PhD in Veterinary Anatomy from the Haryana Agricultural University served as an Assistant Professor and as a veterinary surgeon with the Haryana Government. Originally, Dr. Sanjeev Balyan hails from a Jat family based in Kutba village of Muzaffarnagar distric. His wife Dr Sunita Balyan is also a Veterinary doctor.

Currently Dr. Sanjeev Balyan is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and has won the Indian general elections, 2014 from the Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency. Incidentally he won the election by defeating BSP candidate by a margin of more than 4 lakh votes. He has been appointed as minister of state for Agriculture and food processing in NDA Govt, 2014. He is Minister of State for Agriculture, Food Processing Industries.

Dr. Balyan is second youngest minister in Modi's government. Initially the appointment Balyan raised eyebrows in some quarters as some questioned his eligibility, feeling how the BJP leadership had decided to offer him such a responsibility without any proven talent or background or a track record of loyalty. But Sanjeev Balyan, though, he doesn’t mind being called a novice. As he thinks maybe he is a novice in politics but he is a fast learner.
