Sanjeev Abhyankar Biography 
Sanjeev Abhyankar is a Hindustani classical music vocalist of Mewati Gharana. He has also done playback singing for a few movies. For the song, "Suno Re Bhaila" from the movie Godmother, he received National award for best playback singing male in the year 1998. He has received the title, the title 'Sur Ratna' and was awarded with Rotary Vocational Excellence Award 2002 and Pandit Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar. He has also received President's award from All India Radio in 1990 and F. I. E. Foundation National Award in the year 1996. He sings Khayal, Bhajans, Thumris and Natya Sangeeth.
Sanjeev was born on October 15, 1969 in Pune. He started learning Hindustani music at the age of 8. He was first trained by his mother and later by her guru Pandit Pimpalkhare. He also received opportunity to learn Hindustani music from Pandit Jasraj. Sanjeev learnt music under him for 12 years. He completed Bachelor's Degree in Commerce. His first stage performance was in the year 1983, at the age of 13. He has conducted concerts in different parts of India as well as abroad. He has released several albums with leading music companies of India, including HMV, Sony Music, Times Music etc. He has also performed in many commercial conferences including Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Samaroh, Pune, Master Dinanath Sangeet Mahotsav, Goa, Baba Harvallabh Samaroh, Jalandhar and Doverlen Conference, Calcutta. "Jasrangi" is a specialty where he has performed with leading artists like Durga Jasraj and Ashwini Bhide Deshpande.
As a playback singer, he has rendered his voice for many Hindi film songs. He won National award for the movie, Godmother. Other noted songs include - Sada Sumiran Karle of Dashavatar (2008), Lai Ja Re Badra of Dil Pe Mat Le Yaar (2000), Yeh Hai Shaan Banaras Ki of Banaras (2005) and Tum Gaye of Maachis (1996).
