Saniya Shaikh Biography 
Saniya Shaikh is an Indian shooter from Meerut, UP. She has represented India in many international shooting events. She represents India in Women Skeet (SK75) event in International Shooting Sport Federation. Saniya belongs to a family of shooters, and she belongs to the third generation associated with this sport. In fact the family has created their own Gun house, known as "Mateen Gun House" in their home town, Meerut. She is a national junior champion six times in a row, when she performed at World Shooting Championship in 2015, and ranked 38 (65 points- 23,22,20). In Common Wealth Games 2018, she narrowly missed a medal in shooting finals.
Saniya Shaikh was born on 25 April 1992 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. She was born into a family which exclusively belongs to shooters. Her dad is a former national-level shooter while her grandfather was a revered hunter. Her brother Hamaza Shaikh is also a shooter, while her cousins - Mohammed Saif Sheikh and Mohammed Sheeraz Sheikh were also part of the national team, and are international shooters.
She was introduced to the sport by her father at the age of 13, and she easily fell in love with the sport. She already had a string platform to build on, and with the blessings of the senior members of her family, she took the sport as profession, and later represented India at many international competitions. After gaining experience in the national and international circuit, she is determined to help bolster the swelling profile of skeet. Chiara Cainero is her idol. During the Asia Olympic Shooting qualifiers in 2016, she scripted a positive tale. However she missed out on the finals.
