Sangeetha Biography

Sangeetha is a south Indian actress, model and playback singer. She concentrates most on Tamil cinema and her roles in Khadgam, Pithamagan, Uyir and Dhanam are noted most. At present she acts as a judge for a few reality shows of Tamil television channels. She is married to Krish, noted film actor and playback singer. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.

 
Sangeetha was born in Chennai on 21 October 1978. Her grandfather, K. R. Balan is a noted film producer. Her father, Arvind has also produced a few films. Sangeetha completed her schooling in St. John's, Besant Nagar. She started her film journey in the late 90’s with low budget movies. She appeared in Tamil hit movies like - Kaadhale Nimmadhi and Udhavikku Varalaamaa. She appeared in minor roles in Malayalam hit movies of late 1990’s and early 2000’s. A few of those movies include -Summer in Bethlehem, English Medium, Varnakazhchakal, Deepasthambham Mahascharyam and Shraddha.

 
Her first noted role happened in the year 2002. She played second lead opposite Ravi Teja in Telugu movie Khadgam. She won best supporting actress award in CineMAA Award and Filmfare for this role. Tamil movie, Pithamagan is one of the most memorable roles of her career. In this critically well acclaimed National award winning movie, she worked aside great actors of Tamil, Vikram and Surya. She later appeared in moderate hit movie, Uyir. Manmadan Ambu, Nayagan and Evano Oruvan are a few more Tamil movies.

 
Later she appeared in numerous Telugu and Kannada movies as well. A few of her Telugu movies include – Sankranthi, Tiger Harishchandra Prasad, Bahumati, Srimati Kalyanam, Nenu Pelliki Ready, Adirindayya Chandram, Naa Oopiri and Maa Intikoste Em Testaaru-Mee Intikoste Em Istaaru. After the movie Dhanam, she got married to Krish. They got married on 1 February 2009 at the Arunachaleshwarar Temple in Thiruvannamalai.
