Sandra Amy Biography

Sandra Amy is a south Indian film actress and television anchor who started off her career as a child artist of Malayalam movies. She is married to film actor and VJ Prajin, who is concentrated on Malayalam and Tamil films. After playing a child artist’s role, later she started doing character roles and finally landed in her first lead role for the Tamil film - Sivappu Enakku Pidikum (2014). Later she played lead heroine roles in Tamil movies – Sutrula (2014), Dharani (2015) and Karam (2015). She also played supporting roles in Urumeen (2015). Her upcoming movie is ‘Singham 3’ starring Suriya in the lead role. She has also bagged a Bollywood film, where she plays a Tamilian, Emraan Hashmi's love interest. This untitled movie is directed by Anthony D'Souza.

Sandra Amy born in Idukki, Kerala in 1992, is familiar to Malayalam audience as Sandra Jose. Sandra was trained in classical dance and has appeared in a few movies as a child artist. She acted in Meera Jasmine starrer Kasthooriman and Swapnakoodu, both released in 2003. She portrayed the role of Tamil girl 'Madurakani' in Swapnakoodu. Earlier she was seen in 1996 movie Omana thingal kidavo at the age of three and Snehapoorvam Anna (2000). She was quite active in competitions during her school days and has won the Miss Thiruvananthapuram title once. Worked as a VJ she has also hosted a few television shows. She completed graduation in Psychology from Thiruvananthapuram Women’s College, Vazhuthacaud. She got married to Prajin while studying at woman’s college.

Most recently she has signed a Bollywood project which has Emraan Hashmi and Sameera Reddy in the lead roles. Though her role is small, she is happy to debut Bollywood. The film is yet to go on floors and she is to lip lock with Emraan for the film. Now a budding actress of Tamil cinema, she has a handful of movies.
