Sandeep Shetty Biography

Sandeep Shetty is a well-known film actor associated with Tulu language movies and plays. He is also a stand-up comedian. He plays character roles and parallel lead roles. His full name is Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, and he is fondly called "Kusalda Birse" by his fans and well-wishers. As a film actor, he is best known for Tulu movies – Dhand, Madime, Ekka Saka etc where he played noted supporting roles.

Shetty was a member of the "Prashamsa" team which participated in "Bale Telipale" - stand-up comedy contest show in Namma TV and won for three consecutive years too. This show has earned him enough popularity among Tulu viewers of Kannada belt. As a stage performer, he has done over 1000 stage shows, including some foreign countries. He has worked as a stage actor in many plays.

Sandeep Shetty was born on 23 July at Manibettu, Udupi in Karnataka. He is the son of Sunder Shetty and Rathna Shetty. He completed his BBM and MBA degrees, before he turned a full-fledged actor and stage artist. He is a very successful stage artist, and he has donned different kinds of roles including comic ones. His professional career started in theatre in 1998. He started off as a playwright and play director through Tulu play, 'Nathuna Paru'.

As a film actor he started off in 2008, and in a career spanning to one decade he acted in 6 films. He is a recipient of 'Janamechida Hasya Nata' award in Puttur drama competition and 'Kusalda Birse' - By Mumbai Kalabhimanigalu, apart from winning the reality show Bale Telipale for three seasons in a row since 2013.
