Sandeep Marwah Biography

Sandeep Marwah is an entrepreneur and film producer, associated with Hindi film and television industry. He is the president and owner of the Asian Academy of Film & Television. A noted media personality, he is the founder of Noida Film City, started in the year 1988. Though it was rejected first in 1986 stating the reasons of less space, the project was later cleared by Chief Minister Veer Bahadur Singh of Uttar Pradesh Government in 1987 December. In 1991, he established the Marwah Films And Video Studios, the first professional Studios of North India, which was expanded to International Film and Television Club two years later.

Sandeep Marwah was born on March 1, 1960 in Delhi. He schooled at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi. In 1975 he became the youngest one in his batch to pass, and also stood first in the higher secondary school exams with distinctions in History & Geography. He completed graduation and PG in commerce from Delhi University and Diploma in Marketing & Management from the institute affiliated to Princeton University of the USA. Later he completed two diploma courses from Delhi University in the early 1980s. He is married to Reena Kapoor, a fashion designer, who is the daughter of famous film maker Surinder Kapoor. Thus famous film personalities - Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are his brother-in-laws. Sonam Kapoor is his niece and Arjun Kapoor is his nephew.

Apart from being a brilliant student in academics, he also learnt the essence of theater. Later Sandeep Marwah was associated with the production of close to one hundred stage shows. Associated with many great theatre artists and cine personalities, he formed his own theatre group and named it as Diamond’s Club. He is currently associated with many theater groups across the country. Approved in December 1987, Noida Film City is country’s one of the leading ventures. Its blue print was created by marwah in 1986. Now around 17000 media professionals work in the Noida Film City in three shifts round the clock.
