Sanchit Balhara Biography 
Sanchit Balhara is a film score composer, best known for his association with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movies in the recent times. Got associated with the director for Bajirao Mastani in 2015, he is associated with him for the most recent project, Padmavati, which is yet to get released. Sanchit Balhara received anonymous critical acclaim for this work in Bajirao Mastani, and also bagged numerous awards and nominations. He won Best Background Score award at IFFA, Global Indian Music Academy Awards, ZEE Cine Awards and Mirchi Music Awards.
Sanchit hails from Panchkula. He is the youngest son of Bhal Singh Balhara, who composed music for many Haryanvi movies since 1980. His elder brother Ankit is a Haryanvi actor. Sanchit completed a diploma in Music Production & Sound Engineering at Point Blank Music School in 2011. At that he pursued a career in Bollywood. He marked his debut with Haryanvi movie, Tera Mera Vaada in 2012, before he bagged the biggest project of his career, Bajirao Mastani in 2015. He earned recognition in Bollywood with this project, and also got opportunity to work with the director for his big-budget film, Padmavati starring Deepika Padukone. He is also a composer and has penned lyrics for some short British movies, including Spicy Money.
He learnt music at Delhi from Performers Collective, which is affiliated to the Trinity College, London. He later went for a year-long training in music to London. For his debut film, he tuned six songs and one Haryanvi Ragni. He retained folk flavour in the compositions. All the recordings were done in the UK using the latest techniques. He composed the film’s music score and background score. Songs included a Hip-Hop track in Haryanvi also. The movie was directed by his father and his elder brother starred in it.
