Samira Koppikar Biography 
Samira Koppikar is a singer, lyricist and music composer who shot to fame after singing the revived version of Aaj Phir Tumpe Pyar Aaya hai of Hate Story 2 aside Arijit Singh. The song was re-composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee. She composed and sang the song - Maati Ka Palang for 2015 movie, NH-10, the movie starring Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam in lead roles. She also sang the song Mohabbat Barsa De for 2014 movie, Creature 3D aside Arjit Singh, with whom she sang the musical chartbuster Aaj Phir Tumpe Pyar Aaya hai. The song was composed by Tony Kakkar.
She was born in Mumbai into a Konkani Chitrapur Saraswat Family. Her talents were identified by her parents at a younger age who encouraged her. Asha Bhosle and Shankar Mahadevan are her idols. She started her professional career through jingles before moving to Bollywood and independent music. Later Samira decided to start a music band of her own, and she was spotted by Louis Banks and Joe Alvarez at a jamming session who encouraged her a lot. She performed with her mentors for many music shows in India and abroad. ‘Aaj Phir Tumpe Pyar’ for the film ‘Hate Story 2’ marked her singing debut in Bollywood and shot to instant fame with her debut song itself.
She released her first single ‘Bebasi’ soon after and she penned its lyrics as well. She experiments with various forms of music which include - Acoustic Folk, Indie Rock, Fusion, Jazz, Indie Pop and even ghazals. She composed and sang the song, Maati ki palang for NH10. This philosophical song was penned by Neeraj Rajawat. A rock-folk-fusion number, this song was also well-noticed. She loves to interact with live audience for the positive energy it gives.
