Sahithya Biography

Sahithya Jagannathan is a successful model, actress, video jockey and sports presenter. She is also a columnist. As a model, Vivel Miss Chennai competition in 2009 is her biggest achievement, where she was selected as the beauty pageant winner. After winning Miss Chennai 2009 title, she represented India World Miss University contest in Seoul, Korea in 2010. Though she couldn’t win the title, she won the Miss Speech sub-title. Sahithya was also shortlisted in Femina Miss India 2014's Top 25 contestants. She entered films very soon, and worked in a very few movies in 2012 and later.

Sahithya Jagannathan was born on 11 July 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She started her professional career through modelling, and later moved to anchoring and acting roles. After winning Miss Chennai 2009 title, she marked her film debut with Neethane En Ponvasantham in 2012, playing Samantha’s friend. Her second film release was Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, and in this movie too she shared screen space with Samantha. Later she was seen in supporting roles in Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam, Andhadhi etc before she took a break from acting.

She started her modelling career during her college days, and completed her graduation in journalism at MOP Vaishnav College, Chennai while she was busy with her assignment commitments. As a model she has walked the ramp for Chennai international fashion week for two seasons, and has worked as a ramp model for many leading fashion designers of the country. After working in a few Tamil movies during 2012-2015, she moved to television where she worked as an anchor. Most recently in 2017, she anchored the Pro Kabaddi League for Star Sports in both Tamil and English. She has worked as a sports commentator for many live tournaments and also writes a weekly column for DT Next.
