Sahar Zaman (journalist) Biography

Sahar Zaman is an Indian journalist best known as a TV news anchor and newscaster. She is an Independent Arts Journalist, art curator, creative entrepreneur, guest lecturer and jewellery designer. She is associated with the profession of journalism since 2001. She became a familiar face to Indian TV views as an anchor of Mirror Now for Times Network. She also works as a freelancer for Tehelka and Femina, apart from being active in the art field as an art curator and jewellery designer. She also anchors an art show for Bloomberg UTV called Art Wise. She is the founder of Asia’s first web TV called Hunar TV. She deals with many interesting subjects such as art, music, food and travel through her web television channel, first one of this kind.

Sahar Zaman hails from New Delhi. She started her career as a journalist, doing various tasks such as reporting, writing and producing shows. She also gained recognition a news anchor for mainstream political news and specialising in arts journalism. Currently she anchors the news for News X and CNN-IBN, and many more Indian channels. She has been associated with Bloomberg TV, DD TV, Tehelka TV, OPEN TV, Reuters Asia, Doordarshan News, Headlines Today etc earlier, for which she has produced many shows.

She is also a well-known art curator and art writer in art circles. She curates art shows with politically and socially relevant issues. She is the founder of Asia’s first web television channel, Hunar TV through which she deals with some interesting topics related to food, travel and entertainment. Chamak Patti – is the brand of her own fashion jewellery and home decor products.
