Sachet Engineer Biography

Sachet Engineer is a Bollywood actor and swimmer from Bhubaneswar, Odisha. As a film actor he is best known as a child artist who played the role of Yohaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary's elder brother) in Aamir Khan’s highly acclaimed film - Taare Zameen Par in 2007. He was also seen in a supporting role of Lingaswamy in 2010 film Khatta Meeta. He is the grandson of water polo champion, Ishwar Girdharlal Engineer. At the 36th Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association Championship held in Thane in 2009 he surprised everyone by snatching four gold medals and also set new 50m backstroke national record.

 

Sachet Engineer was born on 15 May 1995 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He was born into a family of sportsmen and he too followed the same path. He schooled at Campion School, Mumbai. Grandson of water polo champion, Ishwar Girdharlal Engineer, his association with water games began at a very young age of 5. He got his first gold medal for swimming at the age of 5. Since then he has won several medals in swimming events in state and national level competitions. He also made a new national record of 50m backstroke for under-14 champions. Sachet is associated with Otters club.

 

In the 27th Otters Open, he swept five gold medals and a silver in 2010. He was 14 years old when he made this outstanding performance. Till now he has played in 7 National level competitions. Now at the age of 20 he dreams to enter National Squad. He also dreams to become a pilot and a model actor. Now he is concentrating into his studies. He has played only child actor role on big screen till now.
