Sabbir Khan Biography

Sabbir Khan is a Bollywood director, who has directed the movies – Kambakkht Ishq and Heropanti. Kambakkht Ishq (2009) that starred Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles also included Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh and Holly Valance in cameo appearances. Despite highly hyped the movie was only a moderate success at Bollywood. His second release is Heropanti, whose success launched a promising debut to its lead actors – Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon. Both his movis received mixed response from critics.

Sabbir’s father has been a lyricist to Bollywood movies in the 1960’s and early 1970’s. This young sabbir was associated with Bollywood. He lost his mother at a very early age and for the same reason, his childhood days were spent in film sets and locations, where he used to assist his father. He watched film studios, movies and film recordings a lot during his childhood. Yet he was aimless till his adulthood. He did part-time advertising jobs before entering Bollywood. Initially he assisted Mahesh Bhatt and David Dhawan and later got permanently associated with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, belonging to Sajid Nadiadwala. He directed music videos and trailers during his early phase with this production company.

In 2009, he wrote his first film script, Kambakkht Ishq (Film title derived from a popular song of Pyar Tune Kya Kiya -2001) and casted the top stars for his movie – Kareena and Akshay. The movie got quick attention as it included many leading A-listed Hollywood actors though in cameo roles playing themselves. For his second movie, Heropanti, released in May 2014, he received positive response from critics for his direction.
