Saba Qamar Biography

Saba Qamar is the latest actress to cross the border from Pakistan entertainment world to Bollywood. She is to play the lead role opposite National award winning actor Irrfan Khan in an upcoming flick produced by Dinesh Vjan and Bhushan Kumar. The untitled project is scheduled to release in 2017 and is being directed by saket Choudhary. Her performance in the film Manto as Noor Jehan was well appreciated. In fact her performance in this movie released in 2015 helped her to bag the maiden Bollywood project. The movie will go on floors in August. She made her film debut with 2013 Pakistani film – Aaina, and her upcoming projects include - Lahore Se Aagey and 8969.

 

She was born in 1984 in Gujranwala, Pakistan. She currently resides in Lahore. She made her acting debut through TV shows before her film debut. She has also been featured in TV ads. PTV's drama Jinaah Ke Naam opposite Sami Khan in 2010 marked her acting debut on television. Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoole, Pani Jaisa Piyar, Jo Chalay To Jaan Se Guzar Gaye, Mein Chand Is, Thakan, Digest Writer, Kaisay Tum Se Kahoon and Sangat are her popular Pakistani TV serials till now. She is one of the top actresses on Television and rose to fame with 2015 movie – Manto. She has been regularly featured with the actors Mikaal Zulfiqar and Ahsan Khan for many shows.

 

She initially had no interests in Bollywood films and wanted to concentrate on to Pakistani movies and TV soaps. She was also approached for many supporting roles of Bollywood in the past few years. She has rejected many supporting roles for movies such as Love Aaj Kal, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and Heroine. She even rejected a title role opposite Randeep Hooda. She wants to work opposite Shah Rukh Khan, Irfan Khan and Ranbir Kapoor.
