S. P. Nimbalkar Biography 
S. P. Nimbalkar is a famous yoga guru and instructor from Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is also an author and teacher. He founded Yoga Vidya Niketan (YVN), a Mumbai-based Yoga institute where he teaches yoga. He is a disciple of Swami Kuvalayananda, a pioneer in the field of yoga. He authored three books - Aarogyasathi Yoga, Pranayama and Swasthya Ke Liye Yoga, apart from numerous articles related to yoga. He tours across India and abroad with his yoga practices. Indian government honoured him with Padma Shri in 2004, for his outstanding contributions towards the field.
His full name is Sadashiv Prahlad Nimbalkar, and he hails from Mumbai. He remained a physical education instructor and teacher before he completely switched over to yoga practices and teachings. He ertired as vice principal of Junior college, Mumbai in Maharashtra. He became a disciple of Swami Kuvalayananda, and later took decision to promote this practice across the country. He also adapted it to his life style, knowing its benefits.
He later founded Yoga Vidya Niketan, which offers many diploma courses on yoga and related subjects. It also gives training in yoga therapy and offers teachers training courses. Yogic Science, Yoga therapy, naturopathy etc are among the interesting topics he deals with. He mostly gives importance to training courses for teachers, so that they can teach many students. His organization offers diploma and one-year courses, and stay facilities for its students too. He emphasizes on breathing, meditation, and relaxation.
His books related to yoga have been huge in demand. His book 'Aarogyasathi Yoga' won the National Award in 1978. Till now the book has been sold for more than a lakh copies. His book 'Swasthya Ke Liye Yoga' got the financial assistance for its publication from Government of India.
