S. P. Kodandapani Biography 
S. P. Kodandapani is a noted music director and playback singer in Telugu film industry. He introduced playback singer S. P. Balasubramanyam to film world through the movie - Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna in 1967. As a singer, the philosophical song - "Idigo Devudu Chesina Bomma" of Pandanti Kapuram (1972) is still popular. As a music director, his noted works are Devatha (1964), Jwaladeepa Rahasyam (1965), Manchi Kutumbam (1965), Loguttu Perumallakeruka (1966), Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna (1967), Nenante Nene (1968), Gopaludu Bhoopaludu (1969), Manchi Mithrulu (1969), Kathanayika Molla (1970), Lakshmi Kataksham (1970), Pandanti Kapuram (1972), Tata Manavadu (1972) and Gandhi Puttina Desam (1973).
He was born as the son of S. P. Nandyayya and had 4 siblings. One among them was a sister who died at a younger age. His childhood days were spent at Guntur. He played harmonium and sang songs at a younger age. He got his first song to sing in a chorus in the year 1953. The movie was Naa Illu and the chance was given to him by Addepalli Rama Rao. As an independent singer, 1955 film Santanam marked his debut. He has worked as Harmonium player with Susarla Dakshinamurthi and as an assistant under veteran music director K. V. Mahadevan for five years.
Padandi Munduku, Manchi Rojulochayi, Bangaru Timmaraju, Thotalo Pilla Kotalo Rani and Loguttu Perumallakeruka are a few of his early hits as a music director. Among his brothers, S. P. Ramakrishna is a leading make up man of Chennai film industry. Another brother, Radhakrishna garu started a film magazine during 1960's. His brother S.P Venkanna Babu was a film producer. His son, S. P. Easwar is a successful Music director who is concentrated most on television.
