S. H. Bihari Biography 
Shamsul Huda Bihari, popularly known as S. H. Bihari was a very popular lyricist of Bollywood during the golden era of cinema. He was a noted poet also. As a lyricist, his most memorable songs are included in the movies – Kashmir ki kali, Jhuk Gaya Aasman, Praskar, Mohabbat Zindagi Hai, Sawan ki ghata, Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye, Shatranj, Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi, Dilli ka thug, Ek Musafir Ek Hasina,Shart, Bandhish, Ek jhalak, Arab ka saudagar, Inspector, Kismat, Duniya, Jaane Anjaane and Pagla Kahin Ka. Apart from Hindi, he has also penned lyrics for Urdu. He was also verse in Bengali language. Apart from writing the lyrics, he has also worked as a scriptwriter for a single Bollywood movie – Pyar Jhukta Nahi. The movie was a box office hit.
His association with composer O.P. Nayyar and the singer Asha Bhosle has been exceptionally well and they together have given many memorable songs like Yehi who jaga hai of Yeh raat phir na aayegi, Bahut shukriya of Ek musafir ek hasina, Aao husoor tum ko and Kajra mohabbatwala of Kismat, Zara hole hole of Sawan ki ghata and all songs of Kashmir ki kali, especially Isharom isharom mein, hai re hai and Deewana hua badal. He was the king of romantic songs and with the decline of romantic songs in 1970’s, his career also noticed a setback. Other noted songs of Bihari include - Dekho woh chaand chhupke karta hai of Shard, Yeh chand sa roshan of Kashmir ki kali and Tumse Milkar Na Jane of Pyar Jhukta nahi.
S. H. Bihari was born in 1922 in the district of Ara in the East Indian state of Bihar. He became a graduate from Presidency College, Kolkata. He was also a football player and has played for Mohan Began in Kolkata. Film maker, Huda Bihari who has directed Jogi and produced Do Badan and Isi Ka Naam Duniya Hai is his brother. In 1947, he moved to Mumbai where he studied and worked.
