Rohini Godbole Biography 
Rohini Godbole is an Indian physicist and academic, currently based in Bangalore. She currently serves as a professor at the Centre for High Energy Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. As a researcher she has extensively worked on particle phenomenology over the past 30 years. Godbole is also a much sought-after communicator of science, and delivers lectures about physics to students scholars and scientists at different educational institutions. For her overall contributions towards the field of science and physics, government of India honoured him with Padma Shri in 2018. She is a 1974 Batch student from IIT Bombay with a silver medal.
Professor Rohini Godbole hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. She was born in 1952. After graduating from Sir Parshurambhau College, University of Pune, she enrolled at IIT Bombay where she completed her post-graduation in physics. She also earned her PhD in 1979 in theoretical particle physics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She started her professional career in 1979 as a visiting fellow Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, and from there on, she has spent many years in research works.
She worked in Department of Physics, University of Bombay from 1982 to 1995, after which she joined as Associate Professor at Centre for Theoretical Studies, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Since 1998 he has been a professor and has completed three decades in this field. She has been living in Bangalore for the past three years where she works as a professor and also carries her research works in Particle Physics, Supersymmetry and Electroweak Physics, QCD phenomenology, Physics at Large Hadron Collider and Next Linear Collider etc. She has also authored many books and published her research works in the past three decades or so.
