Rohan Mapuskar Biography

Rohan Mapuskar is a well-known casting director associated with Bollywood. Bollywood films - 3 idiots, Ferrari ki Sawaari, Shivaay and Sachin: A Billion Dreams and National award winning Marathi film, Ventilator which included more than 100 actors are his best works. In fact, Ventilator and Ferrari ki Sawaari are directed by his own cousin, Rajesh Mapuskar. Rohan has worked with Vinod Chopra Films for 9 years, and was introduced to cine world by his cousin Rajesh. Rohan Mapuskar was well praised for casting a long list of 100+ actors for his recent project, Ventilator including Bollywood ace film director, Ashutosh Gowarikar.

Rohan Mapuskar was born on 16 October 1983 in Shrivardhan, a coastal village in Maharashtra. He is the cousin of National award winning film director Rajesh Mapuskar who is closely associated with film and ad-world since early 1990s. In fact Rohan was drawn towards the cine world seeing the work of his elder cousin, who later introduced to the film making field in 2005. He started his career as assistant director on the album Chanda ki Doli starring Sonu Nigam, and joined Vinod Chopra Films the following year, where he started off as a Trainee Assistant Director. Later he worked as Assistant Director and casting director for 3 Idiots and many more films of the same production house.

Rohan worked for an ad film directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Impressed by his work, Hirani offered him the job of the Casting Director in 3 Idiots. Since then he is regular in cine world, associated with several projects of Hirani as well as his elder cousin Rajesh Mapuskar. He works in both Bollywood and Marathi cine industry, and he earned acclaim for National award winning Ventilator directed by Rajesh. It was for the first time Ashutosh Gowarikar played a full-length lead role on big screen, and the whole ensemble cast well suited the demand of script.
