Rocky Verma Biography

Rocky Verma is a noted actor known for playing negative and supporting roles in Bollywood and television shows. He has essayed several short, but powerful roles onscreen. He played the negative role of gangster’s key team member in the movie, Action Jackson directed by Prabhudeva. Always particular about the roles he play, Rocky loves to play negative roles as they are very powerful and catches audiences' attention easily. Mostly associated with action films than romantic ones, he was recently seen in the Bollywood flicks – Kill Dill, Kick, Chaahat – Ek Nasha etc.

Rocky Verma was born on 9th November 1969 at Indore Madhya Pradesh. His father was a school teacher and mother, a homemaker. His father was a noted classical singer who has been associated with radio during the period - 1960 to 1974. He has 5 siblings. During his academic years he was quite attracted to the world of theatre and he used to visit many theaters and wrote articles related to theatre, for the newspaper Naidunia. After graduation he joined Naidunia and worked as a Commercial Designer. After working 7 years with the press, he felt that it’s not his right place.

He came to Mumbai in 1997, where he continued with the same job for a year. He was associated with the magazine Trade Cinema, where he worked as a layout designer. But he set up his own studio, Rocky Arts at Mumbai in 2002. He faced a lot of struggles to get roles in television in cinema and television and his acting career began with television serial called 'Papa'. He has appeared in more than 20 TV serials till now, apart from numerous character roles for Bollywood. Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, , Gumraah End of Innocence, Balika Vadhu, CID, Na Aana Iss Des Laado etc are some of his television roles. The actor feels that though technically Indian television has advanced very much, acting skills are deteriorating.
