Rochak Kohli Biography

Rochak Kohli is a successful young music director and lyricist associated with Bollywood. He made his music debut with National award winning and commercially successful film, Vicky Donar (2012) and shot to fame with his debut song itself. He composed the song, Pani Da Rang in collaboration with its lead actor, Ayushmann Khurrana who rendered his voice to the song as well. The melodious song was an instant chartbuster and accumulated numerous music awards for its composition and singing. He collaborated with Ayushmann Khurrana for the second time for the song, Saadi Gali of Nautanki Saala, the following year, and also Hawaizaada in 2015.

 

Rochak Kohli was born on July 3, 1983 in Chandigarh into a family of lawyer. He too took the same profession. A qualified lawyer he completed his LLB from Panjab University. Rochak is an experienced theater artist too who has been associated with the world of theatre for long 8 years in theatre since his college days. Later he joined radio station 92.7 Big fm, and reached till the position of National Programming Head before he called it quit in 2013. By that time he got the big break to Bollywood through Vicky Donar (2012). He very soon set up his own recording studio too.

 

In 2013, his second song - Saadi Gali from the movie Nautanki Saala was released. Same year he composed a single, Oh heeriye featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, followed by another single Mitti Di Khushboo (2014). In between he has done a few promotional songs also. In 2015 he composed music for two Bollywood films – Hawaizaada and Welcome to Karachi. He wrote and composed two songs for Welcome to Karachi – “Lalla Lalla Lori" and "Boat Ma Kukdookoo". He also rendered his voice for one of its songs - "Boat Ma Kukdookoo".
